                                                       By Daniel Anobil

Rt. Rev. Samuel Kofi Osabutey, Accra Diocesan Bishop, the guest speaker made the declaration at the Men’s Fellowship Accra Diocesan 30th Annual General Meeting, held at the Mt. Olivet Methodist chapel, Dansoman

Speaking on the AGM theme: “Go Ye Men of the Methodist Church, With The Heritage To Live For Christ And Make Disciples of All Nations”, the Accra Diocesan Bishop emphasized the importance of establishing a personal relationship with Christ and reinforcing that relationship through bible study and application of the word.  He therefore admonished the delegates to watch their conduct in public and especially when in the organization’s uniform.

With regard to church growth, Rt. Rev. Osabutey explained that discipleship implies teaching and learning.  “It is the process by which new converts are incorporated into the church through the various Societies.  One is a disciple for life, no one graduates”.  He provided bible texts to prompt adults the role they have to play – lead the way by being good role models and teach what is in accordance with scriptures (Ref. Deut 6 : 1-9 and Titus 2 : 1-15) .  “You must take the Weekly Bible Lessons seriously.  For qualitative growth, we need discipleship mentality”, the Accra Diocesan Bishop concluded.

In attendance were some of the past Men’s Connexional Officers known as GRANDPAS – Major Ablor Quarcoo (rtd), Bro. J. D. Kane, Bro. Bua Quofie, Bro. Justice Nii Amugi and Bro.
